I'm looking at a 1894P 44 magnum locally and it has some rust/pitting problems on the receiver & a couple of spots on the magazine tube, opinions would be appreciated. I'm in the market for a Marlin lever action in a pistol calibre, and thought I was leaning towards .44 mag, but that twist rate alarms me - at 1:38, why even bother? Is this a typical twist rate for a .44?
