My 2014 Cruze turbo diesel started doing the slamming, as you described, starting at 120,000 miles. The Cruze had had ALL scheduled maintenance from day one by the Chevrolet dealer in Champaign, IL. I anticipate it, so I minimize speeding up or slowing down, which minimizes the slam.
