The S&W has an excellent trigger, both SA and DA. To an untrained eye, the S&W 586 and Colt Python look much alike. They are both attractive six-shot SA/DA large frame revolvers, chambered in .357 magnum/.38 Special, both with 4" barrels, both nickel plated, both wearing wood stocks.

This is apparent when you handle a Python and Anaconda side-by-side. As you would expect a .44 Magnum cylinder is bigger than a .357. Like. D.
The Colt over the Ruger but would give the Kimber a good look too. In any case the higher price for either the Colt or Kimber would raise my expectations considerably versus the SP101. The SP101 is a good value and can be tuned up a bit if needed but I would expect the Colt or Kimber to be tops right out of the box.

I currently have a colt Anaconda w/6", had it for over 10yrs, my 357 is a smith 686 in 4". I think colt makes the best revolver hands down (even though I own several S&W's). The 327 has a trigger that feels lighter than the KC and the contour of the trigger is more comfortable. I can shoot 32 acp,short,long,H&R mag and .327 fed mag. It is identical in size but feels slightly heavier than the KC.
