Directv box will not turn on.

DirecTV randomly turns off and on. Over the past couple of months my DirecTV will randomly freeze, turn off and then back on. Sadly, it usually happens when I’m watching something important. Seems odd for this to occur so I’m hoping for some input from experts on the potential cause of the issue.
