Hello, I’ve been recently trying to replay all souls games with sorceries as an intelligence build. In order to find a cool (maybe even op) weapon that scales with int I gave ds2 wikis a read (both fextra and wikidot) but couldn’t find any definitive melee weapon I really wanted to use (that is except for moonlight greatsword ofc) If you guys know about any weapons with “built-in” int ... The greatsword is probably the best pure str weapon out there, if you can stand the delayed attacks. Even works well in PvP if you can delay your r1s or trick people into thinking you have less stamina than you do. Its not big and heavy, but the gargoyle bident should be mentioned. I'm not FROM software but I can give good reasons why the scaling is the way it is now in DS2. Strength weapons scale much harder than dex weapons but only because they hold many other drawbacks. Strength weapons are much heavier, take much more stamina per swing, swing slower, and generally have higher stat req.

Too many stats. Good weapons include longsword (or sunsword), battle axe, estoc, stone soldier spear, berserker blade are some very good top tier options with quality scaling. Poison Manslayer is a very good weapon, the 150 counter damage works for the poison build up too. Sanctum Soldier Gauntlets will add an extra 60 poison to your weapon and the Rat Ring will add 50. You will still get 80% of the RoB+2 and Flynn's ring effects meaning an extra 80 AR.

They are all great weapons, just depends on your build. If you are melee get the halberd or twin blade, just make sure to infuse it with a Faintstone and boost your INT.
