I can run the motor for anywhere between 1 minute and 1 hour at normal speeds under a load with no loss of power and then the fuel pressure will drop to 5 psi then start bouncing between 5 and 30 ...So while your bigfoot, opened up, makes say 32 mph burning 6 gph (and I'm just guessing at a top speed, but the difference will be correct), a non-bigfoot 60 would get you an extra 4'ish mph. I'm considering replacing my 75 hp two stroke ten year old mercury with a new 60 hp Mercury four stroke. My dealer has the Big foot lower unit only in stock and recommends it over the standard gear case. I realize that Mercury recommends the big foot for pontoons and heavier boats.

Aug 12, 2016. #5. I have been experiencing the exact same issue. Well, I just figured it out and now it steers real easy. There is a screw on the starboard side of the pivot housing. Back that screw out about 1/4 turn and see if that's it. That's a ease of steering adjustment, I guess. I hope that solves your problem.
