Nov 20, 2023 · If you're coming from Mathews or Bowtech, it's going to feel really stiff upfront, but it's way smoother into the valley than Mathews. The shot felt great going off. Very dead and solid. It is a solid bow, but wasn't my favorite among the Hoyt bows, and I'm still concerned about the rotating mods at 29.5 since it's the first position. HOYT ALPHAMAX 32. The new AlphaMax 32 impressed us with its quiet performance, low hand shock, light weight and excellent speed. Really, that is the whole story for this bow, in a nutshell. It is the best bow Hoyt has ever made. If you like Hoyt bows, you will love the AlphaMax 32 or its big brother the 35.Typical of a Mathews is 0.5" longer than what the mod says it is when you measure AMO while a Hoyt is typically only about 0.25" longer. In our shop, Hoyt has really taken over the Mathews kids: smooth, fast, stable. Mathews is a GREAT bow, but most guys that shoot both; walk out with the Hoyt. Hoyt is consistently faster real life set ups too - if that matters to you. Let the wand pick the wizard...The reason I ask is that the Mathews have been coming in pretty heavy vs what mod they have on. 3 - 4 lbs over isn't uncommon. Oh I almost forgot it wasn’t $2,000! It is light but so is the new Mathews. They claim it’s stronger than carbon and dampens vibration 3X better than 6061 aluminum and 20X more than carbon. 30% lighter than 6061 aluminum as well. That was this year, with the Phase 4-33. I switched from another brand to my first Mathews. I went all in with the entire bridgelock set-up. I have been beyond impressed! The hoyt turbo draw cycle at 30 inches was terrible ,the new mathews stacked a little at 30 but not near as bad as the hoyt did !
