Is tradovate good.

Tradovate is decent for beginners since it's pretty low barrier to entry. Just know that NinjaTrader costs a good amount for you to use all their services but the charting and scripting features it offers are very nice. There used to be a $2K minimum balance for their TS Select Plan but as far as I can tell they removed the minimum balance.Once these traders hit their stride and want to either up their trade size or start trading multiple markets at the same time, they upgrade to our Active and Advanced plans where there is no limit to the position size. With Active, your trade size can be bumped up to whatever the available margin in the trading account can support.

As I said I don't use Tradovate, but basic data in CQG data in Ninjatrader is $12 a month, and it provides the main CME instruments, among many others. Either way, you are paying for market data. I suppose similar to the way that Samsung or Apple make phones, but the don't work without a carrier connection, which have separate contracts and fees.

Thoughts on Tradovate platform? An acquaintance uses the Tradovate platform for futures because of their low fees. I checked out their site and disclosures and it says there's no insurance in case of bankruptcy or misappropriation on funds deposited. My inclination is to run in the other direction. Futures can gap in value especially if they’re illiquid. Some contracts like softs or grains, etc can gap max for days at a time without letting you get out.
