Hilltop is between Westpoint and Muldraugh in that weird long thin stretch of farming land that looks like a road itself, where highway and farming stretch cross. Start from either town/City and drive to the other. About halfway between them on the highway you will encounter a long stretch of land that looks tilled, farmed or whatever.

Define "best". My 1st objective of every new run is to get to Louisville so west point has been my go to. They are all good. Rosewood is a relatively small town with lots of amenities. The others are larger and therefore have more zombies but its fun to experiment with them all. I dunno why few like west point.
I have a lot of map mods, but haven't explored all of them thoroughly yet. Little Township and Ed's Auto Salvage are a couple favourites. The former adds a cosy, tiny little town southeast of Fallas Lake. The latter adds not only a pretty cool house with a mechanic garage and junkyard, but a couple of other buildings nearby as well.Project Zomboid. A 324km^2 semi-fictional map.I think such a drive takes about 6 hours in-game time, under 10 minutes IRL. The main highway through the map has some pileups, but you can either find another route, or go over the grass, but you may need to cut some trees. The bridge just east of West Point is blocked, but the railbridge just next to it is free.Sure the bigger towns mean more loot as well but the zombies are very thick here and it's very open.
