If you didn't need a giga for extinction I would probably never raise gigas. Killing groups of enemies on others maps is not anything I struggle with. And finding level 145-150 gigas is a pain. On top of it a giga upon first sighting can walk out if spawn area quite easily and despawn before you even get back with your taming materials.
