Sep 3, 2018 · 2013 accord whining noise , SOSOSOSOS. It only comes on while in motion and while under acceleration. The moment I take my foot off the gas it pretty much stops. If I'm parked, I can put it in neutral, rev it and get no abnormal sounds. As I said, it only comes on when in DRIVE and under acceleration. You can really hear it from about 10-40 mph ... Some get worse faster than others but you will likely get around 75K more miles if the noise is just starting now. The sure way to tell it is gear whine is that it will do it under light acceleration load and will not make noise when you let off the accelerator. Or maybe....
