I also used the top portion of the new assembly in the repair. No leaks or CEL since. I’m not ready to pass judgment on the Dorman kit yet. A leak can also occur between the spool valve and head or the valve cover is leaking. I’d try the $10 fix first if there is no engine code associated with the leak. Be careful not to loosen or remove upper and lower spool valve bolts. Loosing and retightening may break the Honda bond seal.

The valve spool area looks good, no signs of oil leaking from there. I cleaned the area around the valve cover a bit to see if it comes back. i also went underneath the car to take a few pics of the oily oil reservoir. Couldn’t tell where the fluid was coming from though. I wiped the oil pan screws off as well to see if it comes back.
