My T5 has lasted very reliably behind about 480 ftlb flywheel torque (412 at wheels) with much full throttle use at the strip. Having said that though some people seem to be very 'hard' on transmissions and can spit a T5 all over the ground behind a stock 302. If you think you're in that catagory then don't use the T5.

I don't know about the torque though. Alot of guys are usin this trans in high hp LSx builds. Its a 4bolt main block with a HV/HP oil pump in it and thats about it. Im running a stock pan aswell with a 8" balancer.

True a stock 700 or 4l60 can handle 400-450 and @400 at the track. There's pro/cons to both. The 200 is an easier swap but it also has better gear ratios than the 700.Weak pinion gears. The 7.5 can take about 250 hp with a auto trans and last a good long time. 300 up and breakage is inevitable. I drive my car like a p***y for that very reason.
