I remember a few years back that johnson outboards had a problem with the injection system mounts or something breaking, spraying gas all over the engine and starting fires.Messages. 43. The crossflow and looper refer to the way the fuel charge is introduced into the combustion chamber. I would inspect the wiring between the Quickstart sensor and the powerpack, to look for shorts. Extra smoke means extra oil.
