A quick check is to remove the cable from the hub and spin with your fingers while looking for movement on the speedo needle. If it moves, your problem is in the hub. It goes like this, the battery has sufficient charge to energize the starter solenoid, but once the solenoid contacts close and power is supplied to the motor, voltage to the solenoid drops and the contacts open, removing power to the motor.

It runs good at highway speeds but when getting going it sometimes hesitates/stumbles when I give it just a little throttle. It is worse when cold but still sometimes does it when warm too.There is a sensor switch on the clutch that can become an issue if dirty or broken. Spray some cleaner on the clutch switch and see if that clears it up. Could be …

The 750's along with the 1500's have used shaft drive for many years. Shaft drive is supposed to be low maintenence and reliable. There is oil in there that needs to be changed periodically. The 750 is a tried and true design that has been in production for years. Jumping out of second gear is usually the result of worn gear dogs in combination with a bent shifting fork. Kawasaki's can sometimes be a little balky on the 1-2 shift and if you have a heel/toe shifter, it is soooo easy to give the old heel a stomp and then ugly things happen inside the transmission.
900 problems. O.K. been riding since 1959 and have had everything going and some no longer going so I know all bikes have their own 'quirks'. I need to downsize from my C-90 at my age (knees are shot, back spasms etc). Really like the looks and feel of the 900. But one of main reasons not to go Suzuki again is their p*ssy electrical system.

If engine has spark and compression, pour a small amount up to 1/2 ounce into the carburetor throat.
