Multi hit is too boring. Combat is all about spacing and timing, and finding the right rythm for these two things. Also, even a few zombies mean quite the threat for a long while untill you level up a weapon skill. With multi hit on, the game turns into a hack and slash borefest, where even larger groups are easy to deal with from the get go.
