You have to move it around to "EQ" the sound. The e906 has a wider "sweet spot" and, to my ears, sounds a little "better" or more natural than the sm57.

May 6, 2013 · It is interesting, the different opinions. My problem with the e609 Silver is not the brightness per-se. It was more that I was unable to get any warmth/body at all without major EQing. It is really scooped and sounds nothing like my amp. The 906 was just basically plug and play for me. I am talking mostly for live use, not much recording.
