I recommend that you buy an I&T FO-4 shop manual for your 8N before you tear into the hydraulic system. Cost $35-$40. They have a procedure in the I&T FO-4 manual to test pump pressure. I would definitely check the pump first. May 22, 2016 · Shut the tractor off and checked the hydraulic oil level. Not a drop of oil on the dip stick. I ran it right out of oil. Shut her down for the night. Next day I went and filled the hydraulic/transmission fluid to the proper level. Fired up the tractor and let her warm up for 10 minutes. Tried to lift the plow.
