The bike physically goes into neutral but will not start unless the stand is up and clutch in even when in nuetral. (Which I assume is due to the light being connected to the safety mechanism in the bike.)
Dies after 20-30 minutes of riding. I have a 2001 Vulcan 800 classic with around 7000 miles on it. I bought it recently (about 6 months ago) and have been riding it every chance I get. Value should be 0.11 - 0.17 ohm (1-ohm scale). Start the bike and measure the voltage on across the same white wires and it should be 54V or more (250v scale). Drifter 800 Carburetor Problems. ... Hello fellow Vulcan riders, On my commute home today I noticed that the right turn signal stopped working. Then, a few minutes later the left turn signal also stopped working. Got home and checked the lights - headlamp, brake light, and front running lights are all working normally. It is good to go out on the suburban road and drive calmly and evenly at the beginning to allow the supplement to clean everything. Just in case, check the spark plugs if they are easily accessible and adjust their spacing. It is good to look at the air filter and if necessary clean or replace. Actually, the only REAL issue with the 04 model, is Kawasaki "tweaked" a few things starting with the 05 model. Nothing major... But stuff like the way the rear brakes connect, or the way the regulator (the thing under the radiator) is bolted to the frame. A few things here, a few things there.It is very likely the receiver in the hub thats bent from misalignment, this will have to be fixed to make the speedo cable spin. A quick check is to remove the cable from the hub and spin with your fingers while looking for movement on the speedo needle. If it moves, your problem is in the hub. If it dont move, it may be you cable.Check for oil around the spark plug cavity and then explore this further. On the 1500, the service manul says a special tool is need to pull the spark plug tubes, but you can fashion a tool out of the rear axle nut and unscrew the tube. I'd bet the 800 is similar. Most bikes would be about 15V at 5000 rpm, but you need to find the specs for your bike. It could be that the meter is off, though. May 27, 2016 · Clutch Slipping: 2 Problems, 1 solved. 1st problem (solved) Clutch didn't engage until lever was almost all the way out. Solved this clutch release problem by taking apart master cylinder. Pic below is what I found. Funny. Guess PO had problems too, hence him selling it cheap.
