Sticky/Cluster works fine, far from optimal but fun regardless., would not recommend using as much if playing solo. Can confirm that shockproof prevents you from constantly staggering your teammates. You can find a template build for it in the hbg meta builds in the megathread which is updated for TU5.
Secondly, I have some suggestions on sticky HBG, because I've actually got a halfway decent build for it. It's still not viable for solo anomaly hunts, but it's pretty great for multiplayer. Complimentary ammos meant for use when monster's KO-ed, Cluster & Wyvernfire, are not only carry-limited, but also very disruptive to other players online. We use the first fugen at wave 3 to clear the wave instantly/half of it if theres 2 in that before apex spawns. With the apex spawning, you should be at fortress level 8 or so with it reaching 9 halfway in/start of the fight, thats the fugen you use in the apex fight and near guarantees 1 wyvern ridable monster.

Using Uragaan (sp?) 3 piece with a HBG with 2 shields on and some points in guard. Sort of off topic, but you are way over-spec'd into guard for HBG.
