A little late to the party but Firefly-iii is a superb tool (and its free!) that's fairly similar to YNAB. I used YNAB all the time prior to the price increase and then looked for a new platform and this is incredible.

YNAB makes it so it's every dollar budgeted. But I mean, sometimes I'll do something like withdraw cash and I make a best guess. I also don't make a billion categories. There is no category for eating out, coffee, groceries, etc. Just "Food". There is no category for various activities I do, just "Entertainment".
