My current setup, which has been working for more than a year is this: old uverse telephone/dsl cable comes in and goes to my old 2wire i3812 (note that I do not have Uverse DSL, for at least a year now), which then uses an ethernet cable to connect to the ATT access point, which of course sends to the wireless receiver.

Update: As of 11:20AM EST issue is resolved. Problem was related to migration of cloud services IPTV (change of IP address) in the Azure cloud for U-Verse mid-region IPTV server. Old IP restored. By the look of it your cable box is the culprit allright and there is but one way to reboot it ; Pull the cable box`s power cord off the wall outlet (cable box only) for a minute.
