I tried opening mine and something plastic popped. I found plastic bits in the track after the moon roof had a problem closing.
The mechanic told me Ford is aware of the problem and has not done anything about it. Ford will charge between $1600-$3000 to replace/repair. I found a company online that has the part that is needed to repair the sunroof. They also have a video that shows how to replace the broken part.
