For cemu under version 2.0 use cemuhook. If you're running version 2.0 and newer you can use mouse to get around it, because cemu can't see the gyro from the steam controller and cemuhook isn't supported anymore.
Make sure Cemu opens in desktop mode, then in desktop mode "install" the game and DLC by clicking on the meta files. "Load" the game in Cemu and make sure it runs in desktop mode. Breath of the wild in yuzu is great and completely playable (by my standards) Always over 20 fps, and mostly on 30 is enough for me, I can turn off the fps counter and bam! Honestly I had trouble too when trying to install yuzu natively on the steamdeck. However if you just install Emudeck it lets you pick specifically which emulators you want, I picked just yuzu and it works out of the box already configured and working on the deck.

How to improve the fps on Yuzu, it’s always around 15fps. Play BOTW on CEMU. With very minor research done, you'd have found out that BotW on Yuzu can only run at 15fps, and 30fps in the menus. It's a Yuzu problem that won't be fixed until Yuzu get's better. I'm aware of fps mods but they didn't work for me.I get good FPS in Link's Awakening on Vulkan and less 30 FPS in Breath of the Wild with the 60 fps mod. Yuzu only achieves 25-30 spiking in BotW in steam deck from what I've seen. The community, and developers also haven't focused on BotW because Cemu is basically made around BotWs existence. Was gonna recommend you dump it from Wii U instead since it'll probably have 40 fps based on videos I have seen, and mod support.
