Feb 28, 2022 · I have a Litter Robot 3 which I purchased in April 2021. S/N LR3171595. Order #: 1085085. About a week ago the yellow light for the pinch sensor started flashing rapidly. At first I was able to take the unit apart and use a soft brush to clean litter and dust out of the base and this would fix the problem.

The new Litter-Robot 4 boasts new patented technology like its OmniSense™ Detection, which has laser and weight sensors to track your cat’s health via a mobile app and a quieter sifting cycle. There can be a few causes for this, main one being the LR hasn't been cleaned in a while allowing enough litter to accumulate on the top of the base. This results in the globe having to rub against the litter causing excessive drag. Another is the gear box for the drive motor is running dry on lube slowing it down making the motor work harder ... To add, the sensor is two $.01 pieces of plated metal that get litter basically dumped on them with every cycle. So they corrode / get dirty and give tons of false pinch alerts. Sometimes the pinch alert requires a full unplug to reset.
