I got the Dimension of suffering (Dimensional portal outcome) in my current game as Spiritualists and choosing the option to pray for a solution, resulted in this happening. Event Horizon was just a weird remake of Disney's The Black Hole. The Black Hole is definitely worth watching and that seems more 40kish in the end than Event Horizon did.

Not destroying the ship increases the chance of the Unbidden showing up and makes it earlier. Or it used to. Not sure if they changed it. If you're not a ME or Hivemind accepting the ship will create a new faction of xenophiles I think. So if you're playing different ethics you should destroy it.
