Personally I treat Universe Mode as a career mode or season mode where I only focus on a couple of wrestlers at a time. Also create your own rules. Ignore all of the power rankings and title rankings. That shit has been broken for years. Set up your own number one contenders matches and title rematches and whatnot. Play however you want.

Universe mode in 2K19 is definitely more robust, and if that's what you're looking for then 2K19 is definitely still worth picking up, especially if the servers are going down soon.
